Monday February 11, 2008
Diversified Health and Fitness,
Inc., chaired by Lady of America franchise Corp. founder Roger
Wittenberns, announced today that it will be expanding The Zoo Gym
franchise division into Brazil with the opening of its first facility
on March 1, 2008. The move will further establish Diversified and Zoo
Gyms into the co-ed fitness club market, giving the company a presence
internationally. Diversified currently has 6 more franchises under
construction and 152 more committed.
The Zoo Gym division has two
additional facilities under construction slated to open in the first
quarter of 2008 in South Florida. The Zoo Gym is a thirty year
community staple of Ft Lauderdale. Mr. Wittenberns purchased the 11,000
square foot, three level complex in 2005 as a personal investment and
soon after realized the potential of this long standing family fitness
center. In July of 2007 Roger formed The Zoo Gym Franchise Corporation
to expand the Zoo Gym concept globally.
Diversified Chief Executive
Officer, Roger Wittenberns, said “this expansion into Brazil represents
an important step in the growth of our franchise family. The Zoo Gym
family fitness centers will provide a comfortable, affordable and
convenient health and fitness solution for all of South America. The
Brazil Zoo Gym territory will be led by Robert Lee a 40 year veteran in
the fitness industry. Mr. Lee’s successful accomplishments include
executive positions at Life Fitness Inc., European Spa and Racquet
Centers and Lady of America. Mr. Lee is also the founder of
Fitquest100, Inc. which launched the second largest web-based fitness
franchise sales company in US. First year accomplishments included
contracting with over 125 selling companies and hosted interactive
website build-out offshore for cost effectiveness. “If there's anyone
in the fitness industry who knows Latin America and Brazil in
particular, it's John Kersh, the former director of international
development for IHRSA.
During his 10 years of work with the association, Kersh recognized the potential for growth and development in Brazil. He was instrumental in the creation of both the IHRSA/Fitness Brazil Latin American Convention and Trade Show, as well as Fitness Business Latin America magazine, both of which have since become important fixtures of the South American fitness landscape”. (IHRSA, International Health Racket and Sports Association) Diversified Health and Fitness, Inc. is a franchise holding company for multiple fitness franchise concepts including Rejuvenate Health, Fitness and Med Spa, a franchise that targets the women’s fitness market and The Zoo Family Fitness, a twenty-four hour a day workout franchise concept and Liberty Weight Loss a successful chain of 25 women’s fitness and weight loss centers. The company was founded in 2007 and is the brainchild of thirty-five year industry expert Roger Wittenberns.
